TX-Spec Election: D-(inovo) Day in HD29

This is it. It all comes down to today.

We fight for Texans who don't even know there's an election.  For those who've no idea what difference effective and accountable government can make in their lives.

We fight for the very Texans who have never in their entire voting lives voted for a Democrat.

It's our responsibility to fight for them. Because we know.

The Dinovo campaign has been running all out through the General Election season, and been in full on sprint mode in this Special Election period.

Bloggers have been helping.  TDP has come in strongly to support.

But it all comes down to today.

Dr. Dinovo knows, or he wouldn't take the time out of managing his practice to run in this race.

Campaign Manager Tammy knows, or she wouldn't have taken on the huge, exhausting task of carving out a Democratic foothold in Brazoria and Matagorda counties for no pay at all.

Bloggers and volunteers know. KT from BOR, Muse, and Hal and any number of folks we don't even know about who have walked every block of Pearland and Matagorda to let voters know there is an election today know. So do those who picked up the phone to make sure no voter goes uncontacted.

We know.

So, we fight. Got a little fight left in you?

Let's put this one away. For Dr. Dinovo. For Tammy.

For those who will barely even notice that battle's been joined.

It's what Democrats do in Texas.

Because we know.

taking back texas = electoral success for dems (3.00 / 0)

as david van os posted on our thread yesterday:

Now check the electoral map results of 2000 and 2004. If Texas had gone Democratic in either election, Florida would not have mattered in 2000 and Ohio would not have mattered in 2004. Democrats would have had a lock on the White House. Now think about 2008. If Texas were to go Democratic, there would be no scenario under which Republicans reasonably could hope to win the Electoral College. If Texas turns from its artificial red to its natural blue, Democrats will own the White House for years to come.

it'll be interesting to see how things shake down in matagorda.  i can't believe what muse wrote yesterday about there being only one polling place down there.  do we know if that ever got rectified?

Re: taking back texas = electoral success for dem (none / 0)

That was for early voting, I believe.

That was the reason given for the low EV turnout in Matagorda.  People were waiting for election day, because the location was more convenient for them.
